Falcon 9 Crew Dragon Launch Lamp
- 12" tall
- LED light is USB powered with a wall outlet adapter included
- 3D printed with PLA plastic
On May 30, 2020, SpaceX made history by being the first private company to launch astronauts into space and to the International Space Station. This rocket launch lamp is modeled after the Falcon 9 rocket that was used for the launch. The astronauts rode in a Crew Dragon capsule, which you can see at the top of the rocket. During the flight, the Dragon capsule was named Endeavour by the astronauts, in homage to the Space Shuttle of the same name that both astronauts previously flew on.
This lamp commemorates the historic launch of the rocket with a plume of exhaust that glows a bright white/yellow color when the lamp is turned on. It’s 3D printed out of environmentally-friendly PLA plastic and stands approximately 12” tall. The lamp is an LED and is USB-powered with an included AC adapter to plug it into a standard wall outlet. There is a switch on the power cable to turn the lamp on and off.
You can leave the lamp on as long as you want--because it’s lit by LEDs, it does not generate heat and won’t burn out. The lamp glows brightly, but it’s intended as an accent piece and won’t generate enough light to fully illuminate a room. It has an impressive appearance that is sure to start a conversation, because it really does look as though the Falcon 9 rocket is lifting off from the launch pad.
